Contraption Lab Privacy Policy
This policy describes what Contraption Lab collects, why, and who it is shared with. It reflects what the app actually does.
What we collect

| Account and identity | When you sign in with Apple, the authentication service processes an account identifier and authentication credentials. Apple may provide your name and email address depending on your choices. We use account identifiers to associate your saved progress, creator drafts, and community activity with your account. |
| Creator profile and community content | Your creator display name, published level names and designs, publication dates, and share codes are stored on our backend. Published levels and display names are visible to other players. |
| Community activity and safety | We store level likes, play and completion activity, and reports of inappropriate levels, including associated account identifiers where applicable, to operate and moderate the community. |
| Game progress and settings | Game progress, saved boards, and sound, music, and haptics settings are stored locally. Signed-in users can sync progress and creator drafts with our backend; some progress may also sync using Apple iCloud. |
Community features use an online service. The official puzzles work offline. Signing in with Apple and using creator or community features connects to our Supabase backend. Published levels and creator display names are visible to other players.
Who processes your data
We use the following services. Each one receives only what it needs to do its part, and none of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
- We do not use your data for advertising, and there are no advertising or analytics trackers in the app.
- We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
- We do not require sign-in to play the official offline puzzles.
Playing without an account
You can play the official levels without signing in. Signing in with Apple is used for cloud-backed progress and creator/community features.
Your choices
Reset local progress. Settings → Reset All Progress clears progress stored on your device. It does not necessarily delete cloud-stored account or published community data.
Request account or content deletion. Contact us using the address below to request deletion of account-associated data or published levels. We will explain any data we must retain for legal or security reasons.
Manage Apple services. You can manage Sign in with Apple and iCloud access in your device settings.

Children
Community levels are user-generated. Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of online community features. Contact us with privacy questions concerning a child.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app.
